The Holy Mountain (1973) ( CineShots / Samul-toe ) A very bizarre film filled with 10 films worth of symbolism, psychedelic visuals, and spiritual iconography. Love it or hate it it’s a miracle that it was ever made. The majority of the budget paid for by John Lennon after seeing Jodirowsky’s El Topo, was supposed to star George Harrison but didn’t because you can’t wash a Beatles a**hole in a movie. Completely unavailable beyond the heavily censored Japanese laser disk (which I first saw a VHS copy of) until it’s dvd release in 2007. I thought it was all just random images but the directors commentary really gets into the weeds of what it all is supposed to mean.
