When the "it's just arthritis" caused nerve entrapment... ( ChronicPain / Free_Cut_3601 ) Had knee surgery last July, despite one ortho saying full knee replacement I went with the third opinion for just arthroscopy because the joint space is still good, woke up after that surgery stuck in a leg brace for 8 weeks because "surprise the cartilage was lobbed outside the joint surgeon did a meniscal root repair." While going through all the PT work I was told - Piriformis Syndrome. No surprise there really because I walked around with a fractured L5 vertebrae and a torn up knee for decades. After all the PT work something still wasn't right about my foot though, I pointed out to ortho "you don't suppose THIS arthritis lump on the top of my foot could be the problem do you?" Ended up needing all that crud cleaned out because it was compressing the nerves - deep peroneal nerve decompression! Stitches come out at the end of the month and I'm excited to start PT afterwards - I no longer feel like my toes are curling under my foot and I hope it stays that way! I'm so over the "it's just arthritis" shenanigans! when, the, just, arthritis, caused, nerve, entrapment, when the just, arthritis caused nerve, entrapment
