Reduction Journey!
Reduction Journey! ( Reduction / Andy_1421 ) I am happy to say that I am now just over 4 weeks Post Op! Recovery had been very up and down the first 3 weeks with managing pain, isolation, and low energy levels, but I think I've made it to the other side! Got my bandages, re enforcement stitches stitches out, and post op bra off last week and it felt so freeing!! I am just starting to feel the difference in weight being carried around, and I can't believe I get to now wear a wireless Size Small or size B Bra!! I went from a DD to B so it was a 60% reduction. The first picture in my collage is the night before my surgery I was a 32 DD, I was no longer able to wear a bra, they were sagging and taking a big toll on my back as I have suffered from myofascial back pain for almost 2 years. I'm a petite girl just under 5 feet, so this was a lot of weight for me to carry. Second pic is me 2nd week Post Op, and Third is me today at 4 months! Incisions are healing well and am now using the Cicca Care Gel Sheeting Strips for scarring! They are working great so far! I am hoping in the next few months that my back pain will ease up with the reduce weight, and I can return to the many activities I've been unable to do the last while! I know there is only more good to come from this surgery! The days of dreading bra, bathing suite and dress shopping are over! So excited to rock my new itty bitties this summer! To all other women going through recovery, what I've learned so far is to take recovery day by day. Some days you will feel completely drained/ high pain and some days won't be as bad. Recovery is a journey, it's a challenge that will test your patience, your discipline, and resiliency. At the end of the day recovery takes time. Don't push yourself, set boundaries, and be easy on yourself, your body has been through a lot and it needs time to heal. If your feeling the Post Op Blues which is totally normal try doing a little something that brings you joy. It could be as simple as playing a favourite song, sitting outside, singing, or journaling. You will all get through this! Better days are waiting ahead of you! Love & Healing to You All π€ Andy reduction, journey, reduction journey
